Leather is Okay. Feathers are Not.

If I have upholstered furniture in real leather, I'm okay with that. I still don't want like overstuffed furniture. I want minimal padding, like an old fashioned settee in wood with a little bit of padding covered in leather. Or an office chair with a leather seat and wooden arms. Something like that.

I can't have feather ANYTHING in the house. No down comforters etc. I react allergically if it's not washed extremely frequently.

I did that in Kansas where not freezing to death was kind of important and a convenient laundry setup centrally located in a small house made it feasible to wash comforters regularly.

We moved someplace less cold and the laundry area was in the basement and I mailed my down comforters to relatives in Maine. Good riddance.
