I want an old fashioned California Cooler or cold shelf, shelves for shelf stable foods and a small refrigerator and freezer combo.

Daylighting, with frosted glass clerestory windows where appropriate for privacy.

And the usual source orientation, deciduous trees for summer shade and winter sun, for trees as wind breaks if appropriate and thermal mass and blah blah blah.
